- SimplyBiz®, the free networking platform has partnered with mentorship company, Be Your Legacy.

The companies have teamed up in order to give useful business advice to young entrepreneurs and owners of small businesses who face obstacles in their businesses.

Powered by Nedbank, SimplyBiz® was started in 2010 with the goal of linking up the South African small business community and providing a stage for conversations, exchange of information and networking opportunities in a B2B (business to business) context.

Alan Shannon, Nedbank Head for Relationship Banking Sales said: "The aim is for business owners to obtain authentic, first-hand guidance from fellow business owners who have been in similar situations."

Shannon said that the platform continues to bring in professionals and subject matter experts in fields including law, HR, IT and marketing who were ready to contribute and give back some of their time to guarantee the success of the small business sector.

The platform recently went through a complete revamp and is now is structured around 4 broad topics:

1. Getting more clients

2. People and finance issues

3. Business administration

4. Staying motivated

The partnership with Be Your Legacy is viewed as a necessary development as it opens up access through SimplyBiz to more than 170 serial entrepreneurs. The selected entrepreneurs have real business experience in a broad range of industries who are passionate and committed to giving support.

This translates to entrepreneurs accessing a minimum of one response from an expert for some time until 15 December, to questions posed on SimplyBiz®

"We understand that start-ups and growing businesses need timely feedback and practical advice in their business, and we encourage small business owners to make use of this opportunity," Shannon said.

Founder and CEO of Be Your Legacy, Alex Simpson, said that the company was proud to be able to give advice, support and encouragement to business owners via the SimplyBiz® platform.

"Mentorship and guidance is our ethos, and we are committed to empower entrepreneurs to reach their goals.  We encourage business owners to join us on SimplyBiz® - for real business conversations,"  Simpson said.
