Cape Town - The news that Kfm is set for a major revamp, including award-winning breakfast show host Ryan O'Connor being moved from his slot, has left a lot of fans uncertain if they will continue to listen to the radio station.

O’Connor, who recently won an award for his breakfast show which he has been presenting for almost a decade, is to be moved to a 10am to 1pm slot on weekdays.

Former Springbok captain Jean De Villiers called the move "bizarre".

"It is quite shocking to hear that. I'm very surprised. Don't know what to say, I think the station will lose a lot of listeners, Ryan has become a part of so many people's drives to work and I think it is a fantastic show. It is quite bizarre moving your award-winning breakfast show (host).

"It is a massive part of the morning routine for a lot of people, and if you listen to the diversity of listeners, you will see how many people really like the show."

Many other SA sporting stars, including fellow Springbok captain John Smit, also took to social media to share their disapproval on the move: .

ROC is KFm breakfast, even this Durbanite streams in, this is how corporate reward a guy for becoming best presenter?!! https://t.co/5YVN7tsEtF

@GasantAbarder @RyanOConnorZA @KFMza @RyanOConnorZA award winning show is the only thing that keeps @KFMza interesting. An "own goal" scored by the Station if you ask @CapeTown
