DJ Sbu’s taken quite a beating from the media of late. He was rapped over the knuckles for that fake Forbes cover, ridiculed for his idea to market his energy drink MoFaya at funerals. So now, he’s taken his battle to the street.
This time, at least, it’s for a good cause, but it’s virtually impossible for DJ S’bu not to be the centre of attention. This week he took to the streets of Johannesburg, flogging his MoFaya in a bid to raise money for his upcoming SLEF Benefit Concert.
SLEF stands for the Sbu Leope Fund, which assists disadvantaged kids with schooling and accomodation.
The concert takes place this Sunday, so Sbu leapt into action (and peak hour traffic) armed with a board and a cooler box.
He later thanked those who supported him.
"Thank you to all who gave us words of encouragement, shared laughter with us & bought our entire stock today. We appreciate you guys. We doing this not for us but for your kids. We hope to serve as an inspiration on what active citizenship is all about," he said.
Sbu’s MoFaya apparently sold out in minutes.
