Amber Rose hits back at people who criticise her for having been a stripper, but praise Channing Tatum's adult entertainment past.

“I run eight businesses, I’m the CEO of my own company, and still I’m called a stripper,” Amber Rose tells the Cosmopolitan SA team in an exclusive interview at her home in Los Angeles, where she shares her frank views on sexism and double standards in Hollywood, and confesses she is too busy for love.

“Channing Tatum was a stripper. He was a stripper just like me,” she tells Cosmo.

“Then he became a professional model, just like I did. I was signed to Ford Models in New York. Then he started doing movies; I started doing movies. He even made a movie about being a stripper! And everyone bought it and they loved it, and they were like, “Oh my God, Magic Mike, we gotta go see it!” But if I did that, people would tell me I was disgusting. It’s so ridiculous. We’ve had the same life, (Channing) and I, and I’m dumbed down for it. It’s not his fault – it’s just society.”

When she’s not being labelled a stripper, she’s being referred to as ‘Kanye’s ex.’ She confides to Cosmo that her getting to where she is now thanks to the rapper is downright insulting.

“Everything I’ve done, I’ve worked hard for. Anyone can have fame, but I’ve started companies. I’ve brought my brand to the next level. Nobody did that but me. No-one is going to dim my light.”

The article highlights that Amber has a lot going on and that on top of the Amber Rose Awareness Festival, running her companies, tearing up the dance floor in Dancing With The Stars and raising her son Sebastian, her chat show, The Amber Rose Show is winning over critics. It launched in July this year, and audiences can’t get enough of Amber’s in-your-face honesty about everything from sex to fashion. “Thank God,” she tells Cosmo. “It’s really hard to pull off a talk show. Most get cancelled very quickly; mine hasn’t been, so I’m very happy about that.”

When asked if it is really difficult to find a man who isn’t freaked out by her confidence? She says: “It really is extremely hard. But that’s okay because I’m having a great time being single. I don’t have the time to date anyway. Eventually a guy will come along who, you know, will appreciate what I do and love me for who I am, and not try to dumb me down or change me.”

Amber looks stunning on the front cover dressed in River Island. The full story, featuring stunning photography by world famous LA based celebrity and fashion photographer John Russo, is published in the October issue of Cosmopolitan, which is hitting news stands on Monday.
