Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson are "more in love than ever" as they prepare to welcome their first child into the world.

The 33-year-old reality star and the NBA player are expecting their first child together, and sources have now said that as Khloe nears her April due date, the couple - who began dating in August 2016 - are closer than ever.

An insider said: "Khloe and Tristan are more in love than ever. They are solid."

Tristan, 26, has been a support system for the 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' star since she fell pregnant, and has been helping to make sure she's "comfortable and happy".

The source added: "Khloe is not a high maintenance pregnant woman, but it was kind of rough at first and he was there doing anything he could to make her comfortable and happy - he's always telling her how beautiful she is."

Despite their solid romance, Khloe - who was previously married to Lamar Odom from 2009 until their divorce was finalised in 2016 - is said to be in no rush to tie the knot with her beau.

“When a woman is loved correctly, she becomes ten times the woman she was before” Thank you my love ❤️

The insider told 'Entertainment Tonight': "Right now it's just all about the new baby. They're not rushing to get married, but they're in it for the long haul for sure.

"Khloe's been married and knows that it's not the marker of a happy relationship. Khloe considers this her happiest and healthiest relationship and that's the most important thing, not a ring or a piece of paper."

It comes after Khloe recently revealed she knew Tristan was the one "very quickly", as she felt "comfortable and safe" with him straight away.

She said: "My answer for this probably doesn't apply to everybody, but I knew Tristan was the one very quickly - I have never felt so comfortable or so safe with someone. Because of that, I took it very slowly and was cautious about how I went about 'us'. I made sure we had very in-depth conversations. I wanted to make sure that those conversations were backed up by actions.

"Tristan was so forthcoming with his life, as I was with mine. It was really reassuring to feel that someone had the same belief systems as I did. We spoke about religion, children and our families. I think all of those things are important to truly know the ins and outs of someone. It's really easy to fall in love with someone during a honeymoon phase when you haven't yet discussed the logistics of life. But you have to talk about the real things if you want a real/long-lasting relationship."
