The Weeknd is reportedly back in touch with his ex-girlfriend Bella Hadid after splitting with Selena Gomez last month.
The 'Starboy' singer - real name Abel Tesfaye - parted ways with the 21-year-old model at the end of last year after a year of dating, before striking up a relationship with singer Selena Gomez.
But since Abel and the 24-year-old 'Fetish' singer - who has recently been linked with her ex partner Justin Bieber - called it quits at the end of October, he has reportedly "been in contact" with his former flame.
A source said: "Bella and Abel have been in contact since Abel and Selena split, but they are not back together. Abel reached out to Bella asking to hang out and catch up, and she decided to see him and see where things go. She knows that if they don't date again, they can at least be good friends."
The 'I Feel It Coming' hitmaker, 27, has reportedly told Bella he "loves her still", and has apologised for hurting her in the past.
The insider added: "He has expressed to her that he loves her still, and they will always have a real connection. He also apologised for hurting her in the past."
But Bella isn't in a rush to get back together with her former beau, as although she "never really got over" the hunk, she doesn't want to get hurt again.
The source said: "She still loves him but has her guard up. She never really got over him. She is not looking to be exclusive with him now, just to be his friend. His schedule won't allow him to stay focused on her--she knows this from past experience. She also knows he is talking to a few girls still. She reads what is put out in the news and that affects her."
However, insiders also claim Bella has become "stronger" since the break-up, and would be willing to give things another try.
They told E! News: "She is stronger this time around. She would give Abel another try, maybe down the road, but is taking small steps before she jumps back into a relationship."
