KANYE West was taken to hospital in handcuffs following a psychotic meltdown, it was claimed on Tuesday night.
The rapper’s wife, Kim Kardashian, cancelled an event in New York to be at his bedside.
According to website TMZ, West’s personal doctor called for help after the star began acting “erratically” at trainer Harley Pasternak’s house in Los Angeles.
Hours earlier the 39-year-old star had abruptly cancelled the rest of his US tour without explanation and on Saturday he stormed offstage 20 minutes into a concert.

Police were called to a “medical welfare” emergency at 1.20pm local time on Monday. West allegedly tried to assault a gym staff member, and was put on a ‘5150’ hold – used by police to deal with someone with a suspected mental disorder that makes them a danger to themselves or others.
The father-of-two was said to have been handcuffed to a stretcher. According to ambulance dispatchers, the call was a “psychiatric emergency”.
TMZ reported that Dr Michael Farzam gave his patient’s name as Jim Jones and said he was suffering“ temporary psychosis due to sleep deprivation and dehydration”.
But a source told Radar Online the star was on suicide watch on Tuesday night at the UCLA Medical Centre in Los Angeles.
