Former Motsweding and North West FM radio FM host Chris Matshaba has reportedly died on Saturday, February 10 after a short illness.

Matshaba died of an undisclosed illness at Leratong Hospital, West Rand of Joburg. According to Sowetan, Matshaba’s brother Ernest Matshaba said Chris only became ill last week.

"My brother was rushed to hospital on Monday and has been there until he died on Saturday afternoon."

Matshaba rose to fame in 2008 when he joined Motsweding FM. He was co-hosting a music show 'Serapa SaDiphologolo' with actor and television presenter Tshepo Maseko.

He later joined North West FM at the end of 2009.

Matshaba, who was married to the former 'Muvhango' actress Tsholofelo Matshaba.

Matshaba who was born in Ramokokastad was also an entrepreneur, he owned Sebata Media and Motswana Investments.
