Just days after newly-elected President Cyril Ramaphosa quoted the late Bra Hugh Masekela's song ‘Thuma Mina’ during his State of the Nation Address, Finance Minister Malusi Gigaba has made another musical reference in Parliament.

During his Budget Speech on Wednesday, Gigaba quoted American rapper Kendrick Lamar's song 'Alright', and people noticed. 

Taking to Twitter, many posed the question: 'Did Gigaba just quote Kendrick Lamar'? One user wrote: "Cyril quoted Bra Hugh, so Gigaba is going to quote Kendrick Lamar ? This country is a movie."
