Media personality Nomzamo Mbatha graces the cover of August of Cosmopolitan and their first ‘Activist Issue’ had tongues wagging on the Twitter streets.

Donning a daring black and white bodysuit printed with bold words: 'Female Activist’ ‘Feminist’, 'Power', 'Amandla' and 'Fearless'.

With the tagline: ”The Rise of the Female Has a Really Loud Bang”, which caused quite a stir on Twitter.

It all started when a Twitter user, @neli_Ngqulala questioned the magazine's level of activism and of course, Ntsiki Mazwai, who doesn't mince her words,  jumped in, stating that Nomzamo Mbatha has never "represented anything beyond her looks".

Nomzamo keeps being positioned as an activist😂😂😂😂😂when? When has she EVER represented anything beyond her looks? https://t.co/420brOdR50

Even after being labelled as a “hater” Mazwai didn't back down, she still maintains that Mbatha is not an activist.

But then again, what is an activist?

According to the dictionary, an "activist is someone who campaigns to bring about political or social change".

Mbatha's bio states that the local star is a United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Ambassador and some of her

humanitarian work includes her visits to African countries such as Kenya and South Sudan where she advocates for refugees.

What a moment! Still pinching myself that this happened. This happened!

Thank you @TEDTalks @UN @Refugees @LuQuLuQuTribe for the incredible opportunity. MY HEART IS FULL. #DoitLuquLuqu #TEDxKakuma🇰🇪 pic.twitter.com/pGsYni7KhS

Visited a school in the camp and was greeted with South African flags joined with the South Sudanese flag...

So surreal. Such a beautiful gesture ❤️🇸🇸❤️🇿🇦 @DIRCO_ZA @LuQuLuQuTribe pic.twitter.com/HLVbin1dvi
