Sammy Sosa, real name Sam Lehoko, radio Dj and face of Channel O has been trending for over eight hours on Twitter.
The media personality landed in hot water over a “misunderstood” tweet saying that "some girls are super useless" then making reference to the usage of #BlackGirlsRock.
#BlackGirlsRock is a movement founded by Bervely Hills that aims to celebrate black powerful women. The hashtag trended over the week end due to the airing of the event on BET and the recognising of South African #BlackGirls who rock.
Sosa defended herself, saying that her tweet was misunderstood and that she did not mean that black girls are useless but that people should not have ‘abused’ the hashtag by using it in irrelevant contexts. She blamed the anger reaction of tweeps on lack of ‘intelligence’ and went on to tweet that she ‘f*cken educated’ and does not see how people can assume that she does not know what #BlackGirlsRock is.
