On Wednesday, Tumi Morake announced  that she will be leaving Johannesburg based radio station, Jacaranda FM after being the lead host for the breakfast show for eight months.

In a statement released on the station's website, Morake said: "My performance career is taking a new direction and unfortunately radio, with the time and energy it requires at this level, doesn’t fit into those plans. I had a great time and learnt many valuable lessons, yes, even when the pawpaw hit the fan. I wouldn’t change it for the world."

She also wants to focus on her comedy career, spend more time with her family and have another project in the works.

Tumi said the decision to leave was not an easy one.

"This was not an easy decision for me at all. The timing was just not right for this relationship, it is like leaving a lover that you are still in love with. I really hope that fate will bring us together again one day."

Morake's last day will be on March 9, with Martin Bester, Liesl Laurie and Elma Smit continuing on with the show afterwards.
