Zodwa Wabantu seems to be in love-hate and long-distance relationship with Zimbabwe.
This after the controversial dancer, who had promoted the events on her social media pages, failed to pitch for her scheduled gigs in the country on Thursday. Zodwa was billed for a show at Private Lounge in the capital and Club Connect in Bulawayo.
Speaking to ThisaLIVE, Zodwa's boss, confirmed that she did not make the trip.
"It is true that she didn't perform in Zimbabwe but she decided not to. Already there has been negative vibes with Mugabe leaving and the people involved. At the end of the day you ask yourself is it really worth it for me to go through all that? So, she decided not to go. We know that she has fans there but it is too early," Tira said.
Reports in Zimbabwe media quoted a statement from the tour's organisers Devine Assignments claiming they would not be dealing with her anymore.
“As we had paid her, we are treating this unfortunate incident of bad faith, unprofessionalism and outright deceit as fraud and we will be advised by our partners on the way forward,” Biggie Chinoperekweyi of Devine Assignments said in a statement.
