After being married for only two years South African model and television presenter Minki van der Westhuizen and her Stellenbosch businessman husband Constant Visser have decided to call it quits.
Van der Westhuizen, 25, a Pasella presenter and Sports Illustrated swimwear model, and Visser, 39, had only dated for four months when Visser proposed while they were on a holiday in Italy.
The pair tied the knot in Stellenbosch in October, 2007.
It is not yet clear what brought about the sudden divorce, but the model's publicist, Andrew Farr, yesterday confirmed that the couple had agreed on an amicable split.
"Yes, Minki and her husband are getting divorced but it is very amicable as they are still friends. Unfortunately, Minki is not ready to talk to the media as yet," he said.
Yesterday Van der Westhuizen's website still had an old message declaring her undying love for Visser, saying when she was not hard at work, she loved spending time at home with him.
"I've become so domesticated since I moved in with Constant. Before he came along I didn't know anything about cooking but now I love it. I can make anything from roast leg of lamb to pasta."
She also wrote that she dreamt of having kids of her own one day.
"We've already spoken about it and we are not going to wait too long. Probably in about two years and if all goes well we'd like to have three children," she gushed at the time.
The pair had a restaurant in Stellenbosch, The Library, which closed earlier this year.
