Media personality Minnie Dlamini made history by becoming the first woman to grace the cover soccer magazine KickOff.

Instead of celebrating this milestone Twitter storm started to brew, with most criticising the the decision to have the former SoccerZone presenter as the cover girl.

Critics saying the magazine could have chosen any of the many successful sportswomen, the likes of Portia Modise or even the legendary soccer lady Carol Tshabalala.

Zanele Madida wrote" I love Minnie, I really do but I don't think she was the appropriate choice to be FIRST women to be on the cover of #KickOff magazine."

And more tweeps came for her

@KickOffMagazine They've been many women who've made valuable contributions to SA football. Minnie on the cover is a spit in their face...

Taking nothing way from Minnie, she doesn't deserve that cover. She has done NOTHING for SA woman's football. Disrespect by @KickOffMagazine

Carol Tshabalala, more than 10 years in Sports, but has never graced the cover of #KickOff magazine.

Let it be known that, our beef is not with Minnie, our beef is with Kickoff magazine for being so trash.
