Lamar Odom was airlifted via helicopter to a rehabilitation centre in Los Angeles on Monday.
The basketball star was discharged from Sunrise hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada, and transferred to a facility in California to continue his treatment after he was found unconscious in a brothel last week following a drugs and alcohol binge.
According to E! News, the sportsman's estranged wife Khloe Kardashian, 31, accompanied him in the aircraft to LA.
The 35-year-old star is said to be making "progress" and can now move his arms and legs, although he's still unable to stand up, even with assistance, according to the publication.
Lamar will reportedly remain on dialysis, a procedure to remove waste products and excess fluid from the blood when the kidneys stop working properly, for a little longer.
The results of his CT scan are said to have come back normal and he also reportedly passed a swallowing test, indicating there is no sign of long-term neurological damage.
Meanwhile, doctors have reportedly told Lamar's friends and family his recovery will be a long and difficult journey as the amount of damage to his body is yet to be determined.
Khloe - who filed for divorce from her beau last year after four years of marriage - has been by his side since he was admitted to hospital and has vowed to support him.
A 911 call made from the brothel in Las Vegas confirmed Lamar had taken cocaine last Saturday and owner of the establishment Dennis Hof revealed he had also been taking herbal Viagra and drinking bottles of cognac.
The combination of herbal Viagra and cocaine can be deadly.
According to reports, Khloe Kardashian has put her relationship with James Harden "on hold" for the time being.
A source told gossip website TMZ.com: "Khloe is putting her relationship with the NBA star on ice ... it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see she still has deep feelings for Lamar."
James - who started dating the reality TV star in June - understands the blonde beauty needs space and time with Lamar, 35, so has vowed to support her from afar.
A source said recently: "He is so nice and being as supportive as humanly possible given the situation.
"Lamar essentially has zero consistent family other than the Kardashians, and James understands that. The last thing he would want to do would be to add more stress to her plate."
