The Hindi remake of the Malayalam movie, Drishyam, starring Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Shriya Saran, went on circuit in South Africa on Friday. Oneindia.in’s Nandhini reports

Not too long ago, the logo of Drishyam was unveiled by actor Ajay Devgn on his birthday. The innovative way in which they unveiled the logo was intriguing. Users had to wrack their brains and crack the code to unveil the logo, which was brilliant. The fans were excited as some were able to crack the code and some could not.

Drishyam is a critically acclaimed movie in Malayalam played by Mohanlal, which won many awards. The first half is deliberately slow-paced and the second half keeps the audience on the edge of their seats. Devgn dropped his dream project, Shivaay, to commit himself to the Drishyam remake and it seems it was worth the risk. Directed by Nishikant Kamat, Shriya Saran plays the female lead and Tabu plays the role of a cop.

The makers also released the awaited trailer a few weeks back. It begins with an introduction of a simple man, played by Devgn, who has a family, comprising a wife and two daughters. Soon, the trailer reveals a twist in the tale which sees the entry of Tabu, who plays a police officer. The trailer suggests that it’s a story of a common man who leaves no stone unturned to save his family, who mistakenly commit a crime.

The trailer is very intriguing as it does not reveal who is right and who is wrong, but certainly makes us believe that Drishyam will be a super entertainer.

Devgn plays a middle-class family man and will be seen in a different avatar to his earlier power-packed, action hero roles. His character, Vijay Salgaonkar, is a man of simple needs and a small-town mindset, and a guy who loves his family more than anything in the world. When the family is faced with a difficult situation, he is willing to take on men and women in khaki to protect them.
