The Hansa Legends in the Making 2 Tour has to be one of the most extensive we have witnessed in the last 10 years. The national tour consists of 13 concerts between April 9 and June 25. They will take place in Joburg, Durban, Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, Pretoria, Polokwane, Nelspruit and Mafikeng.
Headlining the tour will be Liquideep, HHP and Teargas.
Joining them at various venues around the country will be JR, Ntando, Tuks, Kwela Tebza and newcomer DJ Deelou from Durban.
The tour follows the first Hansa Legends in the Making, which culminated in Pharrell Williams and N.E.R.D last month. The audience consisted of invited guests and Hansa winners at the Standard Bank Arena. The concert had spectacular performances by all the South African artists. Zuluboy was amazing. Ntando showed that he is back to his old legendary self. Malaika pulled out all the stops and gave a world-class performance. DJ Tira absolutely killed it with his Durban house sound. The entire audience was dancing on its feet. It was an awesome climax to the night – so much so that when N.E.R.D came on, they were a bit of an anti-climax. This also could have been because N.E.R.D were playing to an audience who were expecting hip hop and not rock-inspired music.
Anyway, the evening did prove that South African artists rule and the line-up for the second tour is sure to do the same .
According to Hansa, the basic concept behind the tour is: “Every legend has a special ingredient which makes him or her exceptional.
“The artists in the second tour all have that special something that definitely sets them apart, making them South African legends in the making.”
The culmination of each gig will be a performance by the three headliners for the track Born for This, which is enjoying big radio play.
