Social media has been rife with jokes about how the only way some people are going to be able to attend the Global Citizen Festival on Decemebr 2 is as a food vendor, an usher or announcement reader.

This is because the major catch that accompanies clinching one of the free tickets is the fact that one must earn a chance to be picked from a draw by doing good deeds from August to December.

But Tiwa Savage, the singer who will share the stage with the likes of Cassper Nyovest, Sho Madjozi, Beyonce, Jay Z, Ed Sheeran and more believes doing good is the best part of this festival.

At a press conference in Johannesburg, Tiwa said: “I’m actually challenging myself. It’s not just about what my performance but about what I do leading up to December 2. I want to be held accountable for whatever I commit to doing.”

She continued: “My mom always says: ‘your light doesn’t diminish when you light another candle’ and that rings really true for me.”
