Cornelius SA, Jakinda to make appearance at the Red Bull Music Fest in Berlin

Quite a few South Africans have been selected to take part in the Red Bull Music Academy in the Academy’s 20 years of existence. Culoe de Song and Christian Tiger School come to mind. 

This year, two South African acts, Jakinda and Cornelius SA, will fly the Mzansi flag high at the Academy which is takes place in Berlin between September 8 and October 12. 

Red Bull Music Festival touches down in Berlin for five weeks in September and October, bringing its acclaimed program of concerts, club nights and public talks to music and cultural venues across the city.

In addition to being at the Academy, they will also appear at the Red Bull Music Festival where over 100 artists will deliver lectures and perform. Acts like Janelle Monae, Pusha T, Jeff Mills, Nina Kraviz and Oneohtrix Point Never will be there.

Jakinda, who is part of Stiff Pap, will bring afro-future electronica to the mix, while Cornelius SA is packing that deep house. 

The Academy hosts 61 participants from all over the world.
