This month, veteran rapper, Linda 'PRO' Mkhize passed away. On Sunday, a tribute concert featuring AKA, Maggz, Rouge, Reason and others will be held at Zone 6 Venue in Soweto to raise money for an education fund for PRO’s three-year-old daughter.
Ms Cosmo is one of the DJs who will be on the decks. She told us there is a lot that we can learn from how PRO lived his life. Chief among those things: how to be humble.
“PRO always wanted others to benefit from his efforts,” says Ms Cosmo. She says we can learn to “work with a team and put your best foot forward. Read books and always research new things. Linda was super smart and I always admired that about him.”
Most people have revisited PRO’s discography this month more than ever so naturally, we had to ask the DStv Mzansi Viewers’ Choice Awards nominee what her favourite PRO song is. “It has to be Love You Better ft Bucie,” she says.
“It's a beautiful song which shows a vulnerable side to him. Aside that we were never privy to. Bucie does the things on the hook as well. I also dig Umfutho. It has a dope kasi feel to it that'll live forever.”
