Uncertainty in the matrix.

Personally, I feel Ne-Yo sold out by writing those hits for others. It is as if he sold his best work while hoping he would still have material good enough to ride on.

This album is not bad, but it is a long way from Year of the Gentleman or In My Own Words.

There seems to be a shift in his music from the ballads to a dance sound. Songs like Let Me Love You are a good example of this.

You get the feeling that he is trying to make another hit as hot as Closer. That said, his storytelling abilities are still unmatched and that should count for something. – Munyaradzi Vomo
