The awards were opened by American rapper Eminem who performed his newest single - Walk On Water.

The rapper made his grand return to the stage with a orchestra backed performance alongside guest artist Skylar Grey.  Not long after he performed was he announced as the winner in the Best Hip Hop category despite not having new music since 2010.
