DJ Sbu’s energy drink is spreading like, well, MoFaya.

The popular radio personality has just launched his beverage brand in Zimbabwe where, he claims, the drink will be available within the next three months. That represents a rapid expansion for his product which, after its launch in 2015, is already set for distribution in Swaziland.

“After months of negotiations we are finally concluding our conversations to bring Mofaya to the whole of Zim starting July,” Sbu announced via his Instagram account.

“Mofaya will be available in Zimbabwe in the next three months. By the end of July, you will have your favourite drink across the whole country.”

Sadly for Sbu, his plans for a celebratory launch in Bulawayo on Monday opened up a can of worms, rather than Mofaya.

Sbu was a no-show at the Choppies supermarket after his Zimbabwean host allegedly failed to charter a plane for him from Harare. He did attend a seminar later in the day at another hotel, but Buluwayo promoters were disappointed as they had hoped to cash in on his first appearance in the city in five years.

According to a Zimbabwean online news site, the Buluwayo leg of Sbu’s promotional tour might have been cancelled because of spiralling costs.

This isn’t the first time Sbu’s attempts to promote Mofaya has hit a snag. Both radio station Metro FM and football club Kaizer Chiefs have, in the past, accused him of ambush marketing.

Meanwhile, the hustle continues back home:

Never one to miss an opportunity, he's even taking advantage of the current sugar daddy debate in SA, targeting the nation's "blessers" (sugardaddies):
