IT’S DAY 35 in Big Brother Africa’s Hotshots and the latest pair to be evicted were ladies’ man Frankie (pictured) from Rwanda, and his Namibian musical buddy, Permithias. It’s actually commendable that they made it this far given that they were under the gun for the longest time. Last week they were spared when Arthur and Luis left, but it was only a matter of time before the axe fell on their necks. Well, at least their stay was past the half way mark.

Things are getting heated between Butterphly and Idris, and not in a good way. He is trying to have her evicted and this week he almost succeeded by throwing her under the bus in the eviction nomination process. She, however, has shown some contempt towards him and there will be several sparks flying from now on. We get that he wanted to jog her into self-consciousness, but the reality is she is going to be feeling betrayed for a long time to come.

It was also refreshing to see IK, whom some people must think is the real Big Brother, get pranked by the authentic Big Brother. The host was asked to participate in the “freeze” task, which had been carried out on the contestants earlier in the week. It was funny to see IK in a green wig and long beard. That was a long way from his usual GQ look, making it easier to stomach the reality of Frankie and Permithias leaving.

Entertainment was provided by the amazing Ghanaian producer and musician, Joey B, who came back with collaborator Pappy Kojo late in the show. They performed the hit track Wave.

It was also a good surprise to see IK reveal the results of this week’s StarMeter Challenge. This week Africa was asked to decide which Big Brother Hotshots housemate was the laziest and social media was abuzz, with Samantha as their choice. This does not bode well for her from this point onwards.

Several other things apart from the StarMeter Challenge were also done to spice up the usually gloomy eviction show. These included a Comedy of Errors Extravaganza and the A Strangeness of Strangers.

This week’s list of eviction nominees is unusual and makes it a tight race for all those involved. The nominations are as follows: Goitse, Idris, Mack2, Mr. 265 and Samantha. Thanks to the head of the household exemption, Sipe missed the blade and lives to breathe another week. Everyone else will have to party like it’s their last because for some of them, it is their last week in the game.
