The contestants left their hearts on the floor as they danced their final dance on Dancing With The Stars SA tonight on Mnet DSTV 101.

As the incredible first season came to a close, thousands of South Africans cast their votes but there could only be one winner.

Connell Cruise and Marcella Solimeo, took the crown as the first ever Dancing With The Stars SA.

"This is just a dream, I thank you all so much", said  Cruise. From day one you filled me with such love for this beautiful art form that took over my life" said Connell.

Solimeo said the goal had been achieved. "It was the aim and goal from day one. You put in the hours, and im so proud of you. Thank you for taking this journey from me," she said.

Bringing the musical highlights of the night were none other than The Voice SA winner Craig Lucas, South African singing sensation Claire Johnson and multiple SAMA-winning legends Mafikizolo.

DWTS judge, Tebogo Kgobokoe thanked contestants for respecting the art form.

Debbie Turner, also a judge on the show said the contestants will never be the same.

"There is a famous quote that says, "dance came from the people and should always be delivered back to the people", and I believe that the contestants have done that", she said.

"There is nothing more liberating than dance creeping into your heart. And i dnt think you are going to be able to live without it," said Turner.
