- Coffee Junction at Tiger Valley has featured the same band, Evergreen, for nearly 10 years each Friday evening from 8 to 11. It says something for their ever-fresh treatment of the jazz classics that the fans continue to pack in year after year. Coffee Junction has a wide-ranging menu, is fully licensed and has an inner smoker's sanctum not too far from the band.

- If you've had a tough week at the office and want to set your soul flying, what you need is a visit to World of Birds in Hout Bay. It is one of the biggest bird parks in the world and has over 3 000 birds and small animals of 320 species. - Levi's in association with the Green Dolphin presents Shawn Phillips, for one night only - tonight. This fantastic Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter, humanitarian and guitarist returns to the Waterfront venue following last year's sellout success there. - End your week with a blast: take your family or friends for an hour or two of heart-pumping action at Kenilworth Karting. You can race six at a time around this twisty circuit, with a back straight where the karts get up to 65km/h - and this with your seat only 5cm off the tarmac.
