THE CATALINA THEATRE: Running in tandem until December 21 is Clinton Marius’ B!#ch Stole My Doek and Hamish Kyd’s Knowing You.. Knowing Me, under the banner, Bruinous Back-to-Back. Marius showcases Durban actress Shona Johnson in his new comedy. This satire, set in Wentworth, pokes fun at a war of words between two women over a missing item of laundry. Colourful language and hysteria offer an insider’s view of life in the southern suburbs. 7.30pm Wednesdays to Saturdays and Sundays at 2.30pm. R100at Computicket. ELIZABETH SNEDDON THEATRE: KickstArt presents their pantomime, Aladdin, from Friday to January 11. Features songs, jokes, glamorous costumes, and sumptuous sets. Starring Bryan Hiles (Wishee Washee), Darren King (Widow Twankey), Iain Robinson (Abanazar, the evil magician), Georgina Mabbett (Princess Jasmine) and Rory Booth (Genie of the Ring), this pantomime also introduces Nathan Kruger as Aladdin. THE PLAYHOUSE: Comedian Aaron McIlroy’s musical comedy The Ranga takes a tongue-in-cheek look at prejudice. The word “ranga” is derived from “orangutang” and is used to describe people with red hair. In The Ranga, McIlroy takes the scalpel to the preconceived ideas around “ranga-ism”, highlighting how this recessive gene is the primary cause of most the world’s woes. McIlroy descends into the gritty underbelly of ginger prejudice with hilarious results. He appears alongside Durban muso, Andy Turrell. Ends Sunday. THE RHUMBELOW THEATRE (DBN): Under the Covers with The Reals (Barry Thomson, Dawn Selby, Mali Sewell and Jason Andrew) stages from Friday to Sunday. Each band member has their own musical tastes which will be exposed in the repertoire. Expect a song selection from Led Zeppelin, Supertramp, Mark Knopfler, Rainbow, Heart and The Cream, with an interesting and “real” creative twist. THE PLAYHOUSE: Skungpoomery runs until December 21. The show is described as a comedy tailored for the young. It boasts a creative element as the characters, and the audience, indulge in clever wordplay and discover a new lexicon. Aimed at children aged seven to 13, it features Faz and Twoo. THE CATALINA THEATRE: The Princess & The Frog by Sandy Bigara will entertain the whole family! Loosely based on The Grimm’s Tale Der Froschkönig 1812, Bigara has adapted the tale, peppering it with fairies, laughs, song, dancing, action and drama. Ends January 10. THE RHUMBELOW THEATRE: Thrice Upon A Time! starring Marc Kay and Sarah Richard from the Actors Unemployed Company stages from Saturday to December 22.
