Silent comedy saluted in Moron Than Off

The Theatre at St Anne's College will present Aldo Brincat's Moron Than Off, on Thursday at 7pm. The show is a salute to the silent comedy clowns of yesteryear - from Buster Keaton through to Charlie Chaplin, and "a few contemporary stalwarts" such as Uncle Fester Adams and Mr Bean.

The play showcases vaudevillian gadgets, gizmos and sight gags forgotten to a modern generation. "To even mention one of the routines would be to give away a gem."

Suffice to say this show should leave you "gobsmacked and tickled" all at the same time. For those who don't know, Brincat is a Durban-based theatre artist and an experienced performer, specialising in comedy, mime and physical theatre.

His previous shows at St Anne's College Theatre include Defending the CaveBrats! and Frank's Circus Adventure. Brincat will be taking his Moron Than Off to the Grahamstown National Arts Festival next month.

Thursday's show starts at 7pm and tickets are R30. To book, call Toni at 033 343 3300.
