Comedy lovers can expect belly aches of laughs in Aya’s Boy.

The theatre show will star husband and wife duo, Shika Budhoo and Dhaveshan Govender and takes audiences on the hysterical journey of a stubborn grandmother trying to marry off her delinquent grandson.

When 30-year-old Pooven, aka The Fresh Prince of Montclair, hip hops into his granny’s house, little does he know that he’s on a comedy collision course with Vaneshree, the Gadhra-Bean Queen.

From an assortment of crazy characters from Aya’s cock-eyed hen-pecked husband, Thatha, to a very 'spiritual' Bollywood guru, who both get trapped into Aya’s plot to marry off her off-beat grandson, audiences will be in for a treat.

One has heard of 'jilted lovers', but this story is about the 'tilted lovers' - Vaneshree and Pooven will show audiences the funny side of love, with Aya starring at their 'Fairy Grandmother', waving her walking-stick-wand around. Aya’s Boy is a unique take on love and family bonds.

The production is suitable for the entire family, with song, dance, and a barrel of laughs; Aya’s Boy is guaranteed to hit one's funny bone in all the right places.

Aya’s Boy takes to the iZulu Theatre, Sibaya Casino on March 21 at 3pm.

Tickets are R120 at Computicket, Sibaya Casino Box Office and Checkers outlets.
