GIG OF THE WEEK

Hennessy Artistry withCaiphus Semenya, Bucie, AKA and Zakwe

Jack Budha, Pretoria (tonight)

Sedibeng, Soweto (tomorrow)

Every year we have a group of talented people joining forces for the Hennessy Artistry project.

These artists combine their considerable expertise and creativity in what is a fascinating musical experiment.

Over the years the challenge has always been about how differ-ent genres and ages affect the output. Sometimes it works and |in some cases it doesn’t.

You be the judge when Bucie, AKA and Zakwe take the stage at Jack Budha, 8480 Tsweu Street, Mamelodi West, Pretoria tonight.

Bucie has her own unique style, and when rappers AKA and Zakwe join the fray, things could get very interesting. But interesting can be good or bad, depending on how you look at it.

The gig starts at 9pm and the admission fee is to be confirmed.

Tomorrow, the party moves to Johannesburg where Zakwe steps aside and legend Caiphus Semenya steps in to rock it with Bucie and AKA.

Now that is something to look out for. It is like coupling Frank Sinatra with LL Cool J.

Since Hennessy has been doing these shows for a bit, it will be interesting to see how class of |2012 fares against the rest.

The show will be hosted at Sedibeng, 3166 Shikhova Street, Zone 10, Meadowlands, Soweto.
