Ashanti is planning to take rap star boyfriend Nelly to meet her parents - proving their relationship is getting serious. Friends say the sexy singer is arranging a trip to Long Island so Nelly can get to know her family.
However, Ashanti's ex, Irv Gotti - who is also the president of her record label, Murder Inc - is said to be upset about the blossoming romance.
A source revealed to the New York Post: "Irv is furious. He has never gotten over Ashanti and is upset about this relationship and how far along it is."
But a Murder Inc spokesperson has insisted Irv is not jealous, saying: "Irv is only the head of her label, that is it. Ashanti and Nelly are really cute together."
Ashanti and Nelly started secretly dating earlier this year but their cover was blown in April when they were seen leaving New York's Trump International Hotel holding hands.
Nelly has previously been linked to stunning Destiny's Child singer Kelly Rowland after they recorded the duet Dilemma together.
Last year, Ashanti moaned that her singing career had ruined her love-life.The sexy singer blamed her newfound chart success for her break up with boyfriend Geoff.
