Anthony Mackie as Falcon.
Comic Con Africa event organisers on Thursday announced that Anthony Mackie will not attend that three-day event scheduled to take place at Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit & International Convention Centre in Johannesburg this weekend.

Taking to the official Instagram page to announce the news, they shared a video message of Mackie expressing his disappointment in having to withdraw from the event at the 11th hour, alongside the caption:

"Due to category 2 Hurricane Florence around the USA, Anthony Mackie is not able to travel to #ComicConAfrica.

Anthony has a message for all the fans affected and promises to attend a future event. Fans who purchased autograph sessions and photo ops will be able to attain a refund or swap the ticket for another guest."

Mackie plays Falcon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Other international guests that have withdrawn from the event due to production schedule conflicts are Jason Mamoa (Aquaman) and "The Magicians" Rick Worthy.

Fans will have the opportunity to see "Vikings" Travis Fimmel and "American Gods" stars Ricky Whittle and Yetide Badaki, Demore Barnes from "The Flash" and Kevin Sussman from "The Big Bang Theory".

Two of the three-day event's tickets are already sold out. Con Comic Africa will run from 14 to 16 September. Tickets are available on Computicket
