The Very Best of Angie Stone

Sony BMG

Star rating: ****

This is a compilation of some of Angie's hits from her previous albums Mohogany (2001) and Stone Love (2004).

You won't find anything new here, just the usual soulful rhythms that she's best known for. Personal favourites are Wish I Didn't Miss You, which always gets you dancing and U-Haul, which is a great upbeat track produced by Missy Elliot.

I Wasn't Kidding is also a great old school jam with samples from Womack & Womack's Baby I'm Scared of You.

There are two bonus tracks, a remix of Wish I Didn't Miss You and Gotta Get to Know You Better. Plus there is her track Brotha, which is really a “heads up” to all the brothers. There is also a Brotha Part 2 featuring Alicia Keys and Eve.

All in all, a great album, especially if you're a fan of the smooth-voiced diva.
