This week, The Globe Theatre at Gold Reef City Casino will be hosting a celebration of South African music. In ‘Homegrown’, four talented artists, led by the award-winning TV, film, and stage star Izak Davel, will pay tribute to some of the best songs and musicians to come out of this country. It promises to be a vibrant, energetic show, with songs from the likes of Freshlyground, Johnny Clegg, Miriam Makeba and so many others.
And, if you had any doubt that these are indeed South Africa’s favourite songs, the show will be interspersed with interesting clips featuring everyday people explaining why they love this music so much.
Tickets to ’Homegrown’ cost just R80 per person. The show runs Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 8 November to 1 December at 20h00.
