Beetroot Inc. specialises in the design and manufacturing of patchwork and pallet furniture, homeware, gifts and novelties for customers that enjoy the lighter and brighter side of beautiful living. Locally made, their product offering is unashamedly different and colourful and, as a result, appeals to so many!
Unlike other lifestyle retailers, Beetroot Inc. customers can personalise any furniture item they order, adjusting dimensions to suit space requirements and choosing from a variety of fabric and paint finishes. They are happy to reupholster customers’ own favourite pieces and will manufacture bespoke items that are not part of their current product range.
Many of their pieces are multifunctional and can be used in a number of rooms in the home, for example the utility trolleys could be used in the kitchen, bathroom, bedroom or entertainment setting and the ladder stacker can be purposed as a bookshelf, display cabinet, toy box or pot plant.
In addition, the Eco range of furniture (that includes bookcases, storage solutions, patio furniture, servers and utility trolleys in different shapes and sizes) is made from eco-friendly reclaimed wood.
Launched in Pretoria in 2013 with job creation as its main objective, the company now employs more than 50 people and collaborates with numerous small entrepreneurs – ranging from artists and housewives to small manufacturers – who supply products to the company.
Their retail footprint has steadily grown to six stores over the last two years, located in Gauteng (Menlyn Maine, Waterkloof Corner, Fourways Mall) KZN (Ballito Junction) and Cape Town (Tyger Valley Centre, Table Bay Mall).
