Fashion blogger and influencer, Aisha Baker, and South African cricketer, Wayne Parnell, welcomed their baby boy into the family just under a week ago.

The proud parents officially announced the name of their first born in separate Instagram posts. In hers, Baker said: “We would like to introduce Khalid Parnell to you! Named after the great Khalid ibn Al Walid, a warrior in Islam, a revered Muslim and companion of the prophet (saw). Thank you for all the messages of support and encouragement, such a proud member of the Mama Mafia.”

Baker, who was active in sharing pieces of her life during pregnancy, has revealed tiny snippets of life as a parent ranging from family outings to what she’s packed in her baby bag. Recently, Baker posted a picture showing a laser cut motif of a lion’s head comprised of geometric shapes along with the name “Khalid” in both cursive and print font and the phrase, “Rumble in the jungle,” possibly alluding to the theme of the nursery. The wall art is positioned just above the baby’s crib, Baker said in the post: “I literally cried, it’s so beautiful and special to me.”

The wall art was designed by Kikki and Frank, a proudly South African woman-run small manufacturing business. Their website reveals that they aim to empower previously disadvantaged women and manufacture 99% of their products in house from beginning to end.
