When Chrissy Teigen posted an adorable picture of baby Miles wearing a helmet to Instagram, she wasn't really expecting the type of responses that she got.
And while social media trolls were baying for blood, the former swimsuit model took it all in her stride, and gracefully clapped back.
But one good thing that came from it is that many were asking why exactly Miles had to wear a helmet to correct his "misshapen" head.
The answer could be due to a very treatable condition called plagiocephaly, also known as flat head syndrome.
According to the Mayo Clinic, plagiocephaly develops when a baby spends too much time lying on his or her back, or it could be routinely diagnosed at birth due to the result of a restrictive womb environment. But fret not, it doesn't cause brain damage or interfere with baby's development in any way.

It may not be noticeable at first, but only when looking at a baby's head from above. Changing baby's head position can help. If it doesn't improve by the age of four months, the next step is to use a moulded helmet.
