London - Arnold Schwarzenegger has unveiled his ultimate protein fix – a 322 332 kilojoule “Steak and Egger” sandwich.
The former California governor, 66, teamed up with the YouTube cooking channel Epic Meal Time to show fans how to make the gut-busting delicacy – which equates to about 40 days’ worth of food for the average person based on an 8 000kJ-a-day diet.
In his chef tutorial – which has been watched about 2 million times – Schwarzenegger is seen cooking outdoors dressed in camouflage gear, even using a military tank to fry eggs on.
“This sandwich will be so meaty, it will make a weak man cry,” he exclaims.
First he takes a giant loaf of bread, slices it in half and coats it with sliced cheese. Next comes strips of bacon, a lump of steak and a large tin of ostrich eggs, fried on top of the tank.
The Austrian-American actor instructs viewers that “it’s very important to do some tricep push-ups” on top of the sandwich before serving it so it is flat enough to eat.
The Canadian-based YouTube channel Epic Meal Time, launched in 2010, is known for featuring insanely high-calorie meals.
Previous creations include a 42 360-calorie pizza cheeseburger.
