When it comes to cocktails, most people have a particular favourite - whether it's fruity and fun, bitter or perhaps even a floral or woody flavour.
And while many put this down to personal taste, Hollywood astrologist Nicolas Aujula says your personality traits based on your astrological sign could be influencing your taste buds more than you realise.
'Your zodiac personality traits are indicative of your personal profile, and can reveal the kind of flavours, combinations and mixology you prefer when picking a cocktail' .
'Many of my discerning clients seek a more personal way to make their lifestyle choices and choosing the right drink is one of them.'
So, to help people make the right decision for them, Mr Aujula and Hollywood cocktail expert and 'Cocktail Coach', Brian McArdle have put together a list of the cocktails they believe are best suited to each star sign.
'These zodiac inspired drinks bring a personalised service feel, with the uniqueness of a craft cocktail that captures people's imaginations. These cocktails are fresh, fun and unique,' Mr McArdle said.
ARIES (21 MARCH - 19 APRIL) - DEATH IN THE AFTERNOON
Aries are fearless, independent, always on the go and crave constant adventure and passion. Mr McArdle recommends 'Death in the Afternoon' - a quick and easy cocktail that is dynamic that says 'take life by the horns'. Simply add a jigger of bold Absinthe into a glass of champagne for a passionate drink on the go. Wait for the desired milky opalescence for this cocktail to become a wild head-turner.
TAURUS (20 APRIL - 20 MAY) - THE MOSCOW MULE
According to Mr Aujula, 'Taurus is patient, devoted and stable and the bull of the zodiac needs to be surrounded by sensuality'.
Mr McArdle recommends The Moscow Mule with simple flavours that border on sweet that looks as good as it tastes.
'A drink to satisfy tactile senses. Served in a copper mug is the tradition, an elegant cocktail yet simple to make,' Mr McArdle said.
'It stands out at a bar from far away. The vodka of this drink can be easily forgotten about with strong flavours of ginger beer and lime juice on your palate and your nose tickled by a fresh mint sprig floating on top.'
GEMINI (21 MAY - 20 JUNE) - THE CALIFORNIAN
Gemini is curious yet refined and craves duality in life.
'The sign of the twin goes in for two-sided, soulful concoctions with good balance,' Mr Aujula said.
'They adore anything lively, intelligent, and youthful with a love for contrasting flavours that are tongue tingling, colourful and wild to look at. They want a drink they can flirt with being the social butterfly of the zodiac.'
Mr McArdle recommends The Californian due to its balance of two juices that make for a delicious drink that is beautiful in the making.
'This lively cocktail mixes Orange and Grapefruit juice for a delightful color and great balance of tart and sweet. Fresh juice makes this drink irresistible,' he said.
CANCER (21 JUNE - 22 JULY) - OLD FASHIONED
'Cancer is naturally emotional and nurturing yet moody and changeable in nature,' Mr Aujula said.
'They appreciate a thoughtful, handwrought technique. Imaginative flourishes are enough to seduce the crab. Think classic flavours that makes them feel nostalgic and think of the past. Comforting sweet and fruity flavours are a must.'
Mr McArdle says the way to a Cancer’s heart is with the Old Fashioned.
'It’s a classic, comforting and nostalgic cocktail. The warmth of the whiskey mellows with thoughts of nostalgia,' he said.
'For a craft experience, finish the drink with fresh orange peel and get a lighter. With lighter blazing, and aiming at the surface of your drink, pinch the orange peel, expelling the oils into the flame. Fireball! Now mix that burnt orange peel into the drink.'
