We are halfway through the year but it is never too late to see what this year holds for the drink industry.

Speaking to the Private Clients Manager for the Moet Hennessy portfolio in South Africa, Xolani Mancotywa, below is what he says are some of the 2019 drink trends we should be embracing.

Rosé & Red Meat

- This inspiring new food movement shows that Champagne can be paired with savoury dishes.

Champagne served in wine glasses

- This is the modern way of enjoying Champagne to its fullest as it really allows for the full bouquet of the Champagne to unfold.

Vintage Champagne

- This is the highest expression of the House or Maison as it is known in France.

- Ageing is the luxury factor here, as Vintage Champagne must be aged for a minimum of three years in the bottle.

- Not only are the grapes sourced from the best vintage and of the highest quality, the grapes are from highly venerated vineyards and this really accentuates the terroir in each glass of vintage Champagne.

Exciting new VSOP Privilège cocktails

- These are on the increase, especially with fine beverages which have not been combined as widely as vodka.

- We're excited to present a new series of cocktails that offer a perfect balance of flavours which really allow the Hennessy VSOP Privilège to shine.

Cognac and chocolate, especially during winter

- I recommend trying Hennessy XO with dark chocolate as the perfect after-dinner winter gourmet moment.

Moët Ice Impérial

- This is the perfect summer accessory, bursting with bright fruitiness, a seductive palate and elegant maturity.

- Moët Ice Impérial is the first and only Champagne especially created to be enjoyed over ice... fun and fresh and just in time to be enjoyed at those fabulous poolside parties.
