Sunday is World Cocktail Day; a perfect day to relax with a cocktail in-hand, whether indoors or out.

World Cocktail Day is a day of celebration across the globe as mixologists and cocktail lovers alike come together over a flavour infused tipple- often with a local twist.

South Africa offers a variety of beautiful cocktail venues and even greater menu of classic and contemporary cocktails and House of Angostura has highlighted some fabulous ways to celebrate this day.

In every major city in the country you'll find bars setting benchmarks with their unusual cocktail creations - a testament to the burgeoning SA cocktail scene on the global map. Two such trending and superlative cocktail bars are Sin+Tax in Johannesburg and Cause Effect in Cape Town, both of which have participated in The Angostura Global Cocktail Challenge 2018.

Each bar will be creating a truly South African cocktail using Angostura bitter, to be shared across the globe through The House of Angostura’s 80 Bars Around the World showcase

Sin + Tax

A secret hideaway set in the heart of Rosebank, Julian Short and team will be putting their heads together to create something special using only the Angostura products officially available in SA- aromatic and orange bitters.

Cause Effect

Situated on the trendy Park Road in Gardens, Kurt Schlechter and Marshall Siavash will be creating something unique- as usual. Cause Effect is fairly new to the Cape Town cocktail scene but are nevertheless making waves with their traditional brandy-based cocktails infused with fynbos flavours and homemade elixirs.
