Shisanyama Cola Beef Oxtail

(Serves 8) 

Preparation Time: 135 minutes.

Cooking Time: 160 minutes

Ingredients 

2kg beef oxtail

300g barbeque with herbs spice 

200g steak and chops 

2 cups brown sugar

1 bunch thyme

1 bunch rosemary

1 whole medium garlic

2 tbsp salt

2l coke 

Half cup cake flour 

500ml BBQ Sauce 

Method

Firstly, brown the oxtail with barbeque spice and steak and chops spice. (Recommended you use a braaing stand for best results)

Place the browned oxtail in a pot.

Add sugar, thyme, rosemary, garlic, salt.

Add 2 litre of cola and make sure all the meat is covered with coke.

Let it simmer for 1:05min.

Take out the meat let it cool.

With the stock left on the pot add flour, let it thicken.

Then add your BBQ Sauce sauce then stir. 

Keep on brushing it with your basting and use rosemary to garnish. 

Best serve with pap, jeqe, chakalaka, shatini and braaied sweet corn.
