Surely it truly is the best meal of the day?
There's something about breakfast. It's the one meal that can determine whether you will have a good or bad day; make the right decisions when it comes to what to eat during the day and depending on the type of breakfast you had- whether you can wait until dinner.

I'm a fan of breakfast and normally try to go big. But living a hectically busy, deadline driven lifestyle has put paid to my breakfast dreams. And before you say 'Wake up an hour early' I use that hour to catch up on some sleep. Hence I have now developed an unhealthy reliance on coffee to deal with my breakfast less weekdays.

So to fill that void (besides eating jelly babies), I have taken to Instagram to see what people around the world are having for breakfast and boy are they showing off!

Here are some breakfast ideas that had me salivating this week and I cant wait to try them out.

Breakfast Salad

The breakfast salad is having a moment, a moment that I want to last forever. You can't go wrong with a breakfast salad and this is why.
It has everything that you need from breakfast. It has fibre, protein, good fats, and a bit of carbohydrates. It's a well balanced meal and having it for breakfats really is a novel idea.

Creamy Oats with Berries

So I'm still not into the whole breakfast bowl thing because it really looks like a lot of effort to do. Take this cashew milk oatmeal, with hints of cardamom and topped with blueberries, blackberries, pistachios, coconut chocolate and berry chia jam. It's a lot and I don't even know if I could handle having this for breakfast. It looks delicious, though, which is what I have come to expect from UK food blogger, stylist and recipe developer, Bo. Her website really has impressive recipes of breakfast bowls and if you have time to make the breakfast of champions and don't mind spending a lot of time making it Insta-perfect.

Egg and Avocado Toast

I still remember the drama over avocado toast last year and I really didn't understand what the beef was. Millennials were accused of focusing more on avocado toast than on making sure the economy does well so they can afford to buy property. Pft.
This, for me, is a really great breakfast. It takes less than 10 minutes and is perfectly healthy. Eggs, avocado and toast? Yes!

I'm going to stay lurking on the 'gram, looking for more breakfast inspiration, you know, for the weekends.

Also, breakfasts are so popular that there are more than 70million related posts just about breakfast on Instagram. See the proof, here.
