Jack Daniels, a brand of Tennesse whiskey has released its new series of the Legacy Edition, the first whisky in a new series which celebrates the history of the brand.

The new series Legacy Edition presents different labels that Jack Daniel’s has seen during the years.

Most of us know Jack Daniel’s with the black and white label.Apparently, before the iconic label that we know, there was the first ever paper label - the Legacy Label.

According to a press release by Jack Daniel’s, over the years, the brands black-and-white label has come to stand for honesty and independence. But, what many people don’t know is that not everything black in the days was black and white. Sometime before 1904 Jack Daniel’s bottles were a rather unexpected shade of green with an eye-catching gold trim.

The release confirms that, aside from all of this, the green and gold label is just another mystery to add to that of Jack’s life.

Nobody knows when the label was used or why Jack liked this somewhat unusual shade of green.

And even though it was eventually replaced, it’s been brought back as the Legacy Edition bottle - celebrating the slightly mysterious history of Old.No.7®.

The mystery ends at the label for now as the smooth sippin’ whiskey inside was, and will always be, very much Jack.

The bottle is available from Makro online for a retail price of R249.95 while stocks last.
