It's world chicken day and we're celebrating! 
Chicken is not only nutritious, but it's also healthy, very versatile and cheaper than read meat.  
With a new strain of avian flu threatening production, lets appreciate this meat is not only versatile but also loved by many. 
Cape Town cookbook author, Salwaa Francis Smith shares her crispy chicken strip recipes make with homemade tortilla wraps. 

2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
1 egg, beaten
2 cups plain breadcrumbs
1 teaspoon garlic powder 
1/4 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
1/4 teaspoon black pepper 
1/4 teaspoon chili powder

Cut chicken breast into thin strips, about 2cm wide.
Mix breadcrumbs and seasonings well.
Dip the chicken strips into the egg mixture, then dip in the crumb mixture.
Deep fried until crispy on outside and lightly browned
Serve with salads and or chips
