Mulberry & Prince Kitchen and Bar, situated at 12 Pepper Street in Cape Town just off the trendy Bree Street strip, will now be open for brunch.

Celebrated as Cape Town’s favourite New York-style eatery, the new menu features an array of American brunch classics.

Every Sunday from 10am to 2pm you can get your fix of traditional biscuits and gravy (buttermilk biscuit smothered in sausage gravy), french toast (brioche soaked in nutmeg custard with whipped honey butter and maple syrup), buttermilk pancakes (whipped strawberry butter and maple syrup) or bacon and eggs (eggs with hashbrown and candied bacon or broiled tomatoes).

The “lazy Sunday” menu pays homage to comfort food and the restaurant’s American influences.

Co-owners and chefs Cornel Mostert and Cynthia Rivera met whilst studying at the Culinary Institute of America.

Don´t expect to find the typical brunch fare such as chia bowls and eggs benedict.

Brunch will not be complete without bubbles, you can also enjoy a mimosa made with fresh naartjie juice and for the not-so-faint-hearted try their spicy bloody mary garnished with a blue cheese stuffed green olive.

Mulberry & Prince also offers a dinner menu with a focus on shared plates, brunch is the surprising antithesis.

Hearty single portions and delectably rich, decadent choices await – perfectly suited for Sunday mornings that become afternoons.
