Menu options include gourmet burgers

Paarl is celebrating with a host of fabulous food, wine and hospitality specials this month.
Restaurants and wine farms are offering tantalising food-and-wine pairings and special wine tastings, and wine lovers can take advantage of deals and promotions to stock up their collections.

Menu options range from traditional, country-style breakfasts, cheese and charcuterie platters, Karoo platters and gourmet burgers to Sunday buffet lunches. Think winter warmers such as hearty soups, lamb shanks, pork belly, and Cape Malay chicken curries paired with local wines. If the weather permits (which most likely it will) visitors can venture outside to enjoy a picnic and the scenery.

More options include a brandy journey, an artisanal chocolate pairing, a four-course meal paired with CBC beers or a cooking demonstration with a renowned local chef.

Explore the magic of winemaking with a wine-blending experience or visit a farmers’ market with fresh local produce.

Children will enjoy entertainment, activities, non-wine tastings and menus designed for their young palates at many family-friendly destinations.

SPECIAL: Chef Edmore Ruzoza at Nederburg’s Red Table Restaurant.

To make a weekend of it - or a midweek break - take advantage of accommodation packages.

If you or someone special has a birthday coming up this month, Guiseppe’s Table will dish up an Italian feast served at a long table, accompanied by local musicians.

The Red Table at Nederburg is offering a special menu this month for R215 a person (excluding service charge). The menu offers slow-braised beef short rib, wild mushroom risotto and seasonal vegetables, served with a glass of Nederburg The Winemasters Cabernet Sauvignon. A surprise twist on classic melktert awaits those able to keep some space for dessert.
