Only this collaboration is not with a fellow muso, for the months of July and August the award-winning artist, turned chef, cookbook author and My Kitchen Rules SA judge will be teaming up with UCOOK to share some of his favourite Portuguese flavours.

My personal favourite meal is the Bifana Bifana burgers -  traditional Portuguese pork sandwich with roasted carrot chips and rocket.

I loved how simple it was to recreate this dish, which tasted as good as it looks.

This was my first time making carrot chips, so I had my reservations at first. My only regret was that I didn’t make enough, it was that good.

In just 50 minutes I was able to make the perfect TV meal and because all the ingredients were already measured to their exact amounts there was no wastage.

On the easy to read recipe sheet, J explains that the Bifana Bifana roll is the sister to the famous prego roll and was his dad’s “absolute favourite thing to eat”.
