CAPE TOWN- South Africa now has 25 Covid-19 related deaths bringing the death toll to 577 while the total number of infections is at 27 403, an increase of 1 466 infections.
Health minister Zweli Mkhize said he was saddened to report the death of an employee of the National Health Laboratory Services.
"She was confirmed with Covid-19 a few weeks ago and was admitted to hospital she succumbed to death on today (Thursday)," he said.
The number of Covid-19 tests done in the last 24-hours is 20 727 increasing the total number of tests conducted to 655 723.
While 14 370, 52.4 percent, people infected with Covid-19 have recovered.
